In my last blog post (sorry its been a while) we discussed women in the world of crypto and why we desperately need more, but we wanted to do more than just bring this to your attention — we wanted to help lead the way for women in the space.
Well I am so PROUD to say I officially launched MY VERY OWN CRYPTO SHOW! I am so proud and excited to share my latest project with you: Spilling The NFTea (A STO Production).
After I came up with the idea to shoot a crypto show on the #METAYACHT— I came up with a plan, got permission from the bosses & the yacht master (they somehow approved me working from a yacht once a week) and grabbed the token girls — this is how #SpillilngTheNFTea was born.
Spilling the NFTEA is a new show to teach the crypto basics, to anyone who had no idea where to get started!
So lets’ get into it: Season one + Episode One: introductions and crypto basics.
Hosted by the OG Token Girl — (yours truly)- Jessica Burns and co-hosted by the talented Megan Nyvold — and everything else from production to graphics is done by the newest token girls, Kayla Makenzii & Delaney Harmonay.
We are all part of the Security Token Group, Jessica is on the advisory side and the rest of the team is on the STM market side.

Since Miami is now the crypto capital of the world, it only makes sense that we would talk crypto on a #METAYACHT (thanks to our friend yacht master Rob!).
Episode one started simple, by literally defining what each definition means;
Blockchain: a system in which a record of transactions made in bitcoin or another cryptocurrency are maintained across several computers that are linked in a peer-to-peer network.
Cryptocurrency: Cryptocurrency, simply put, is a type of digital asset that is characterized by secure transactions
Decentralized: In blockchain, decentralization refers to the transfer of control and decision-making from a centralized entity (individual, organization, or group thereof) to a distributed network. An example of this would be Apple or Facebook.
Centralized: Centralized organizational structures rely on one individual to make decisions and provide direction. FOREX market is a great example bc there is no physical market to buy and sell.
Staking: Crypto staking is the process of locking up crypto holdings in order to obtain rewards or earn interest.
Decentralized finance or DeFi: is an umbrella term for peer-to-peer financial services on public blockchains, primarily Ethereum. DeFi (or “decentralized finance”) is an umbrella term for financial services on public blockchains, primarily Ethereum. The goal of DeFi is to get rid of the third parties that are involved in all financial transactions.
HODL: HODL is actually anchored in the traditional buy-and-hold investment strategy and stands for HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE.
Hot wallet: A hot wallet is connected to the internet in order to make faster and easier to trades or to spend your crypto.
Cold wallet: is typically not connected to the internet, so while it may be more secure, it’s less convenient.
Mining: Crypto mining is the process by which new units of digital currency are created and new units of the currency are made, or “minted,” and introduced into the market.
Smart contract: Smart contracts are simply programs stored on a blockchain that run when predetermined conditions are met. They typically are used to automate the execution of an agreement.
Bull Market (bullish): A bullish market is one in which prices are generally expected to rise.
Bear Market(bearish): A bear market occurs when securities fall for a sustained period of time.
